We are already testing a second electric truck. It is the Mercedes-Benz eActros. This week’s test takes place in Slovakia. Earlier we also tested the Volvo FME 42T electric tractor. Both vehicles will also be tested in the operation of our dispatch centers in the Czech Republic.
The manufacturer MB states a range of 300 to 400 km for the eActros, depending on the number of batteries fitted, and a top speed of 89 km/h. The charging time from 20% to 80% is quoted (with a charging power of 160 kW) at 1h 15 minutes, in case of a more powerful battery in the vehicle 1h 40 minutes. After testing both vehicles, we will certainly share our experience with the professional community. The own data obtained will help us to decide on the inclusion of electric trucks in our fleet and to assess the possibilities of their use in our practice. We will also look at suitable routes for these vehicles in order to achieve the highest possible efficiency while respecting their declared and in practice proven ranges and charging times.
