Distribution Logistics for Austria
Distribution logistics is an important link in our logistics chain, as it enables the final delivery of goods to end customers. We have built an efficient and reliable distribution network not only in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. We have capitalized on this more than twenty years of experience and as part of the expansion of the service, we can now also offer coverage of Austria.
Since 2023, our distribution logistics have covered the whole of Austria based on the needs of our clients. We now offer delivery of goods with many synergy effects to all locations also in this country.
Method and basic characteristics of distribution logistics for the region of Austria
Distribution in Austria is carried out from our distribution centres in Senec (34,000 pallet spaces on an area of 31,000 m2).
DC Senec is located right next to the D1 motorway, 20 km from Bratislava and about an hour’s drive from the most populous parts of Austria – around Vienna.
DC Senec is connected to our transport distribution network in the Czech Republic and Slovakia and can be used as a crossdock for receiving goods for distribution, but also for normal storage of goods, which will speed up their subsequent distribution.
The distribution network for the area of Austria is bidirectional, i.e. it can be used not only for distribution to Austria, but also for transport in the opposite direction, including reverse logistics for returnable packaging, etc.
Distribution of goods is also possible in temperature regimes and is also suitable for food transport.
Delivery of goods in the D+1 regime.
Information exchange via EDI, API, Interface. We are able to help set up the connection of the customer’s various systems with our interface.
We provide administrative tasks such as printing delivery notes, issuing invoices, communication with customers, etc.
We provide distribution without volume restrictions (pieces, cartons, pallets…).
The synergy of distribution logistics with other customers (not only in the case of the Austrian distribution network) brings high efficiency and cost-effectiveness to all parties involved.
Distribution logistics for Austria – coverage and X-dock network
The basic movement of goods is carried out by backbone lines (daily transports) between X-docks and warehouses. These lines transport goods in both directions, from the warehouse to the X-docks of goods for distribution, back returnable packaging and goods from manufacturers for subsequent storage, picking and distribution. X-docks are transshipment points where goods are reloaded onto smaller trucks for distribution to end points.
